The U.S. Treasury imposed a global prohibition on Iranian airlines, halting all scheduled passenger and cargo flights to and from Iran. Major carriers such as Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and AJet cancelled service on 21 September and will not accept bookings through at least March 2027; China’s foreign ministry publicly opposed the sanctions.
